The Simpletone

Formed in the summer of 2010, The Simpletone is a four piece rock band, playing their own unique brand of explosive modern melodic rock music. Their unique sound is instantly recognisable engaging the audience participation with many of their infectious songs. Described as “Think Jim Morrison fronting Pearl Jam” this statement is not far wrong!.
After years of writing songs and playing solo at open mic nights, singer songwriter Glenn Eastoe decided to recruit other members to form a band. So began the birth of the Simpletone. The band immediately started playing gigs with the philosophy in mind that playing live to a crowd is the only way to learn and progress. By 2012 the band had gained and built up a positive reputation on the local music scene stretching into Cambridgeshire and beyond. The Simpletone recorded and independently released their début album Rampenny in March 2012. Tracks from the album were aired on BBC introducing Cambridgeshire and a whole host of internet radio stations. One of the highlights of 2012 saw the band perform to a large crowd at Cambridge Rock Festival! The baying public swiftly formed a long queue to purchase their copy of Rampenny.
Since then, The Simpletone have been busy recording a further two albums Dark Matter in 2014 and Angels Share, 2016. Along with gigging relentlessly and also embarking on a few mini tours of the UK in order to reach the never ending fans looking for something new and exciting. Their most notable achievement to date occurred in 2014 when they supported New Model Army on their UK tour. This was an opportunity for the band to grace the more prominent stages of 02 Oxford, Holmfirth Picturedrome, Parr Hall, Warrington and The Waterfront, Norwich performing to capacity crowds. The band have also had numerous festival appearances which have added to their growing list of achievements. Well known for their famous whiskey song, when they actively encourage audience participation in joining them to drink a few drams of whiskey, the song is applauded and brings together even the most frostiest characters in nature, helping to break down the barriers with their music.
