The Cyrenaics

The Cyrenaics

“The Cyrenaics began as a collection of recording experiments composed by drummer Aaron Apaul from 2013 – 2014. These demos served as the basis for a three album project centered around an overlapping storyline about fictional characters Jake Lake and Mary-Louise. Apaul’s initial three official releases under The Cyrenaics name were written, performed, and recorded as a solo act before being joined by Connor Wood on guitar in the spring of 2015. Wood and Apaul would collaborate to complete the Triple-LP entitled The Ballad of MaryLou: Acts I, II, & III, an album which produced one of their most popular tracks to date “Lonely Friday Night” . Ben Kelly would briefly join the group on bass through the next two recordings “Know Your Vice” and “The King’s Mistress” before departing in early 2016. Wesley Boyd joined the group on guitar in the fall of 2015 right before the end of The King’s Mistress sessions. His addition provided the group’s first full length song a 4 piece band titled “King’s Mistress” . Jeffery O’Neal Harper joined on bass in early 2016 as the band continued a swift release schedule of experimental EP’s and LP’s. The final two experimental projects She’s Gone to Plasma and Snake Oil Woman added liveset fan favorites “Until The End of Night” and “Spring Forward” . Currently the band is focusing on further fall recordings in hopes of crafting a record suitable for attracting further interest and support in the group.”
