Oceans Of Noise

More than living up to their band name, Oceans of Noise are gearing up to release their new E.P. and have chosen London as the launch pad. Although only having joined forces three years ago, the band come armed with a formidable arsenal of experience. Led by soprano, Sertab Erener, herself a huge award-winning, chart-topping star in her native Turkey and across Europe, the band have a supremely polished, melodic style married with hurricane-strength energy and swathes of twisting synths and batteries of gargantuan riffs. The lead track from their self-titled EP, The Age of Ghouls, showcases the band’s effortless skill at writing arresting and anthemic rock songs which feel timeless and hugely emotional.

After initial jamming sessions playing a selection of cover versions for their own entertainment, Oceans of Noise quickly realised that the chemistry they had together could be channeled to create original music that could transcend far beyond their Istanbul base. Sertab was already cemented in Turkish popular culture forever as one of their best-selling pop artists, winner of the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest and featuring on the soundtracks to Masked and Anonymous and the breakout Japanese-Korean horror film, A Tale of Two Sisters, when she joined guitarist Emre Kula of prog rock band, Kes; bassist Eser Unsalan, keyboardist Ozan Yilmaz and drummer Alpar Lu. Completing the puzzle was Brooklyn-based Joel Hamilton, the multi Latin Grammy/Grammy Award-nominated producer of the likes of Bonobo, Highly Suspect, Tom Waits and Unsane. The E.P. features not only The Age of Ghouls but the heart-felt ballad, Frozen Love; instant rock classic, It Wasn’t You; the radio-friendly, Miracle, as well as Finding White in Black – an English language version of the track Ayla, featured on the soundtrack to the film, Ayla – The Daughter of War.

The official launch of the E.P. will take place at London’s ultra-hip Omeara on January 27th 2018; the band will be available for interviews on this date; very limited tickets available for review purposes – please send all requests asap.
