Chaotic, disastrous full on, and bloody fantastic. That’s one way of describing this superb diverse hard rock band, they are hard rock itself full of highs, lows, riffs and heavy bass lines, but don’t let me stop you there did I mention the unbeatable guitar solos. Imagine Led Zeppelin gave birth to Disturbed then threw in a bit of Korn and some Godsmack, then the result would be these guys. Vocally superb, Lyrically supreme and the music couldn’t get any better if it tried.
Motor City rock still has its hard and honed edge that was pioneered by the likes of the MC5, The Amboy Dukes, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Iggy and the Stooges and Grand Funk Railroad. Born of this powerful legacy are melodic hard rockers Dead in 5. This fierce five-piece performs with a raw energy and hunger that can neither be bought nor faked. You either have “It” or you don’t. And Dead in 5 has “It” in spades.
There’s no corporate sheen marring the honest, and downright dirty rock n’ roll played by Dead in 5. The band grinds out intense musical gems with as much super-charged muscle as a new Mustang rolling off the assembly line. Turn the key, and FLOOR IT! Dead in 5’s music is not just an assertion – it’s an absolute DECLARATION of the POWER of Rock and Roll!
Evoking a sonic mash up of Clutch, Soundgarden, White Zombie and Led Zeppelin, the band’s dirty outlaw rock will make you raise your fists in salute to their musical juggernaut. It’s “Sons of Anarchy” meets “Fight Club” set in the post apocalyptic “Mad Max” environment of Detroit Rock City.
Since their debut show inside one of Detroit’s most notorious biker clubhouses in January 2013, Dead in 5 has become an in-demand live act headlining Metro Detroit’s top venues and festivals, in addition to support slots for national acts Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, Sevendust, Pop Evil, and Texas Hippie Coalition.
In the band’s short time together, Dead in 5 has released 3 discs –including their self-titled debut EP and a full length, “Wreck Your World” in 2013. The latter disc saw 7 of its 11 tracks featured in the cult film “Pro-Wrestlers Vs. Zombies” (Troma Entertainment) starring WWE wrestling legends “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Matt Hardy, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Kurt Angle and Shane “The Franchsie” Douglas.
Now with the release of a new 6-song EP “Schizophrenic Razor Project,” produced, mixed and engineered by Chuck Alkazian (Soundgarden, Alter Bridge) at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, Michigan, Dead in 5 is poised to knock down doors and penetrate ears with their undeniable Detroit fury.
