Cunic Ensemble

Really cool music indeed, not tied to any particular genre there is something for everyone in there unique style. Vocally fantastic, Lyrically superb and the music is a combination of mixes, instruments and different sounds. Very pleasing indeed.

The Cunic Ensemble is a song-based music project started in 2011 by John Clarke who has written & produced songs with various musicians from the Merseyside area & beyond.

The Cunic Ensemble were born after John had written a batch of songs that he thought were good enough to be recorded. The songs were also a vehicle for him to create something different from his usual work of writing & producing instrumental music for films.

There are no specific styles of music for the Cunic Ensemble, with each song on the album varying in genre and feel. The songs and music will continue to evolve and differ with each release.

Although John has written and arranged the songs, the album “The Gram” released in 2013 & the upcoming EP “Blues For You” really only came alive with the musicians who gave up their time to make a big contribution to the recording process & each one of them gave the album a little bit of their own character & brought the songs to life.

Influences include Spiritualized, Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, Alice Coltrane, Stone Roses, Chic, Beach Boys, Foo Fighters, Portishead, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Beatles, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan
